Foreign Commodity Options
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (Commission or CFTC) has amended rule 30.3 to eliminate the requirement that the CFTC authorize the offer and sale of a particular foreign exchange-traded commodity option before it can be offered or sold in the United States. The amendment does not affect existing restrictions on transactions involvingstock index futures and foreign government debt.
