Nuclear Regulatory Commission Proposes Generic Letter on Steam Generator Tube Inspection Practices

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing a generic letter to emphasize the importance of performing steam generator tube inservice inspections at pressurized-water reactor facilities using qualified techniques in accordance with the requirements of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50. The NRC is seeking comment from interested parties regarding the proposed letter, which was endorsed by the Committee to Review Generic Requirements (CRGR) on December 17, 1996.
