Revision of Filing Requirements

In this Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, the Commission proposes to eliminate thirteen reporting requirements and to reduce the frequency of six other reporting requirements. These reporting requirements are variously applicable to interexchange carriers, Bell Operating Companies, other local telephone companies, and record carriers. These proposed actions will improve the quality of information available to the Commission, while at the same time reducing the reporting burdens imposed on carriers.
