U.S. Hearing Aid Compatibility Requirements for Telecommunications Equipment and Services

The U.S. government has mandated that all wireline telephones in workplaces, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, and motels must be hearing aid compatible and have volume control by a certain date, with the goal of increasing access to telephone services for people with impaired hearing.
