FDA Affirms Lactase Enzyme Preparation from Candida Pseudotropicalis as Generally Recognized as Safe

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has confirmed that lactase enzyme preparations made from Candida pseudotropicalis are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) for use in milk and milk-derived products. Pfizer, Inc. submitted a petition to the FDA in response to this affirmation.
