Extralabel Drug Use in Animals

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is proposing to allow veterinarians to prescribe extralabel uses of certain approved animal drugs and approved human drugs for animals. This action implements the Animal Medicinal Drug Use Clarification Act of 1994 (the AMDUCA). This proposed rule will provide veterinarians greater flexibility for using approved drugs for animal use.
