FDA Amends Regulations to Allow Safe Use of Peroxyacetic Acid Mixture for Fruit and Vegetable Washing

The FDA is permitting the use of a specific mixture of chemicals, including peroxyacetic acid, acetic acid, and hydrogen peroxide, to reduce microbial contamination in water used for washing certain fruits and vegetables, in response to a petition from Ecolab Inc.
