Office of Community Oriented Policing Services; COPS AHEAD and COPS FAST Grant Programs

The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, U.S. Department of Justice is publishing, for a 45-day public comment period, interim guidelines to accompany the COPS AHEAD and COPS FAST programs. Both programs are expedited approaches for the award of grants for the hiring or rehiring of career law enforcement officers and are among the programs authorized by the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, Public Law 103-322.
