Bennett-Cottonwood Oil and Gas Development EIS Withdrawn

The U.S. government has withdrawn its Notice of Intent to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for a proposed oil well development project in the Bennett-Cottonwood area of the Custer National Forest in North Dakota, after Meridian Oil, Inc. and Apache Corporation withdrew their proposals due to unsuccessful drilling results and corporate reasons.
