Simplification of Deposit Insurance Rules

The Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is seeking comment on whether the deposit insurance rules (insurance regulations) should be simplified and, if so, how. If the Board finds simplification to be warranted, it will propose specific amendments on which public comment will then be invited. The purpose of this notice is to solicit comments to help guide the possible preparation of a proposed rule. This notice presents only a general description of the insurance simplification options being considered and includes no regulatory text.
