IRS Issues Final Regulations on Branch Profits Tax and Effectively Connected Income

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has released final Income Tax Regulations addressing the determination of effectively connected income under section 864 and the branch profits tax and branch-level interest tax under section 884 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended by the Tax Reform Act of 1986.
