Intent To Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for Columbia River Channel Deepening Feasibility Study, Oregon-Washington

The U.S. government plans to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to assess the feasibility of deepening the Columbia River Channel, which would allow deeper draft vessels to fully load and improve navigation in the existing project. This study is authorized by Congress in response to appeals from local port authorities seeking navigation assistance.
