FDA Approves Polypropylene Glycol as Defoaming Agent in Beet Sugar and Yeast Processing

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has amended its regulations to permit the use of polypropylene glycol with a molecular weight of 1,200-3,000 g/mol as a defoaming agent in the processing of beet sugar and yeast, following a petition from Ashland Chemical Co.
