Drug Abuse Treatment Programs: Early Release Consideration

In this document, the Bureau of Prisons is amending its rule on Drug Abuse Treatment Programs in order to allow for consideration of early release of eligible inmates who complete a residential drug abuse treatment program. This amendment is necessary to implement provisions of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. Further changes to the regulations are being made for the sake of clarification.
