Inspection and Certification Fees and Charges

NMFS announces changes in its fees and charges for voluntary fishery products inspection, grading, and certification services. The change in fees and charges represents an increase of 9.7 percent in the basic hourly rates and includes a 2.6 percent salary increase and varying locality pay increases expected in January 1995, as well as increased fees for histamine, isoelectric focusing, and methylmercury analyses. NMFS is establishing a separate rate for users of its Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)-based service to accommodate the specialized costs associated with providing this service. NMFS is also informing the public of its intention to begin charging for certain label review services later in fiscal year 1995.
