USNMFS Closes Delmarva Access Area for Atlantic Sea Scallop Fishing
Summary
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has temporarily closed the Delmarva Access Area to all scallop vessels for the remainder of the 2012 fishing year, reallocating unused trips to the Closed Area I Access Area, in an effort to prevent high fishing effort and protect long-term scallop biomass.
