U.S. Government Proposes Revisions to Export Control Regulations to Enhance National Security

The U.S. government has proposed revisions to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to implement the Export Control Reform Initiative, a broader effort to enhance national security, following a 2009 review and subsequent updates since 2010.
