EPA Exempts Diethylene Glycol from Tolerance Requirement in Pesticide Formulations
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of diethylene glycol (DEG) in pesticide formulations used on crops and raw agricultural commodities, eliminating the need for a maximum permissible level. The exemption applies to Huntsman, Dow AgroSciences, Nufarm Americas, BASF, Stepan Company, Loveland Products, and Rhodia, which submitted a petition to the EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
