EPA Grants Occidental Chemical Corporation's Petition to Exclude Wastewater Treatment Biosludge from Hazardous Waste Lists
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted Occidental Chemical Corporation's (OxyChem) petition to exclude its wastewater treatment biosludge from the lists of hazardous wastes, following a thorough analysis using the Delisting Risk Assessment Software (DRAS). The exclusion applies to 7,500 cubic yards per year of the specified waste, allowing for its disposal in a Subtitle D Landfill without hazardous waste regulations under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
