EPA Amends PSD Program for PM 2.5 Increments and Screening Tools

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is updating the Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) program to include new rules for particulate matter less than 2.5 micrometers (PM 2.5), including maximum allowable increases in ambient pollutant concentrations and two screening tools, Significant Impact Levels (SILs) and Significant Monitoring Concentration (SMC).
