EPA Proposes Approval of Illinois' Exemption from NOX RACT Requirements for 8-Hour Ozone Nonattainment Areas

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to approve Illinois' request to exempt sources of Nitrogen Oxides (NOX) in certain areas from Clean Air Act requirements, citing recent ozone monitoring data that shows additional emissions reductions would not meet the 1997 ozone standard.
