Privacy Act of 1974: System of Records

The Privacy Act of 1974 is expanding its systems of records to include information on clearance for classified information and suitability for federal employment, in compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12). This new system will document the eligibility and fitness of applicants for federal positions, including students, interns, and contractors with access to federal facilities and information.
