US Department of Agriculture Amends Sugar Program Regulations to Establish Feedstock Flexibility Program

The US Department of Agriculture has amended regulations to establish the Feedstock Flexibility Program, which requires the purchase and sale of sugar to produce bioenergy and avoid forfeitures of sugar loan collateral under the Sugar Program, as mandated by the 2008 Farm Bill and further amended by the 2012 American Taxpayer Relief Act.
