The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is amending the color additive regulations to provide for the safe use of FD&C Red No. 40 and FD&C Red No. 40 Aluminum Lake for coloring drugs and cosmetics intended for use in the area of the eye. This action is in response to a petition filed by The Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association (CFTA).
