Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton Completes Inventory of Human Remains, Opens Repatriation Process for Native American Tribes
The U.S. Marine Corps has completed an inventory of human remains at Camp Pendleton, in collaboration with Native American tribes, and has identified a cultural affiliation between the remains and present-day tribes. The base is now accepting contact from any tribe that believes they have a cultural connection to the remains, with potential repatriation to the specified tribes if no additional claimants emerge.
