NHTSA Announces Eligibility for Importation of Nonconforming 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS Class Cars

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received a petition to allow the importation of 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS class passenger cars manufactured before September 1, 2006, that do not meet all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, due to their substantial similarity to U.S.-certified versions and their potential for modification to meet safety standards.
