U.S. Department of Energy Releases Draft Environmental Impact Statement for GTCC Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal

The U.S. Department of Energy has made its Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the disposal of Greater-Than-Class C (GTCC) low-level radioactive waste and similar waste available for public review and comment, following the passage of the Low-Level Radioactive Waste Policy Amendments Act of 1985, which assigns responsibility for GTCC LLRW disposal to the Federal Government.
