Commercial Closure Imposed on Atlantic Spanish Mackerel in Northern Zone

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has closed the northern zone of the Atlantic exclusive economic zone (EEZ) for commercial harvest of Atlantic Spanish mackerel due to projected landings reaching the revised quota for the 2026-2027 fishing year, in an effort to protect the fishery resource.
