CFTC Proposes Exemption for Trading and Clearing of iShares Gold and Silver Trust Shares

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is proposing to exempt the trading and clearing of certain contracts related to iShares COMEX Gold Trust Shares and iShares Silver Trust Shares from the provisions of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. The exemption would allow these products to be traded on national securities exchanges and cleared through the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC).
