CFTC Issues Order Allowing ICE Clear to Clear OTC Swaps and Designating Eligible Swap Participants

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has issued an order allowing ICE Clear U.S., Inc. to clear certain over-the-counter (OTC) swap contracts and designating certain floor brokers and traders as Eligible Swap Participants (ESPs) for trading those OTC swaps. The order also permits ICE Clear and Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs) to commingle positions in cleared OTC swap contracts and property with customer segregated accounts.
