Commodity Futures Trading Commission Grants Permission for Chicago Mercantile Exchange to Clear Over-the-Counter Agricultural Swaps
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has granted the Chicago Mercantile Exchange permission to clear certain over-the-counter agricultural swaps in corn, wheat, and soybeans, subject to certain terms and conditions. The order, issued on April 21, 2008, allows the exchange to commingle cleared-only contracts and funds with other positions and funds held in customer segregated accounts.
