CFTC Extends Comment Period on Swap Dealer Exemption Proposal

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is extending the comment period for a proposal to eliminate the bona fide hedge exemption for certain swap dealers and create a new limited risk management exemption from speculative position limits, originally due on May 26, 2009, to June 16, 2009, at the request of interested parties.
