Extension of the Designation of Haiti for Temporary Protected Status

The U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security is extending the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Haiti for 18 months, from January 23, 2013, through July 22, 2014, allowing eligible beneficiaries to retain their status until July 22, 2014. This extension is due to ongoing extraordinary conditions in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, which prevent Haitians from returning safely to their country.
