The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced the inpatient hospital deductible and hospital and extended care services coinsurance amounts for services furnished in calendar year 2012 under Medicare's Hospital Insurance Program. For CY 2012, Medicare beneficiaries will pay a deductible of $1,156 and coinsurance rates of $289 per day for 61st to 90th days of hospitalization, $578 for lifetime reserve days, and $144.50 per day for 21st to 100th days of extended care services.
