National Institutes of Health Adopts 8th Edition of Guide for Laboratory Animal Care and Use

The National Institutes of Health has adopted the 8th Edition of the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, which will require institutions receiving Public Health Service support to implement the new standards by January 1, 2012, with a deadline for semiannual program reviews and facilities inspections by December 31, 2012.
