U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Proposes Listing of Scarlet Macaw as Endangered

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposes to list the northern subspecies of scarlet macaw and a distinct population segment of the southern subspecies as endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, in response to a petition to protect these species.
