US Forest Service Seeks Extension of National Forest Withdrawal

The US Forest Service has submitted an application to the Bureau of Land Management to extend the withdrawal of 4,239.95 acres of National Forest System land from mining laws for an additional 20 years, citing protection of scenic, recreational, and wildlife habitats along the Illinois Wild and Scenic River.
