Texas Regulatory Program Amendment Approved

The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM) is approving an amendment to the Texas regulatory program, which includes revised annual permit fees to raise revenues for administering the coal regulatory program and encouraging quicker land reclamation. The changes aim to fulfill the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977's purpose of ensuring rapid reclamation of mined land.
