Burke Museum Completes Inventory of Human Remains, Opens Repatriation Process
The Thomas Burke Memorial Washington State Museum at the University of Washington has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects, determining a cultural affiliation with a present-day Indian tribe. The museum is now accepting contact from Indian tribes with a potential cultural affiliation, with the possibility of repatriation to the identified tribe if no additional claimants come forward.
