FHWA and FTA Rescind Plans to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for Tappan Zee Bridge/I-287 Corridor Project
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) are rescinding their plans to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Tappan Zee Bridge/I-287 Corridor project in New York, which spans approximately 30 miles of Interstate 287 between Rockland and Westchester counties. The project, which considered highway, bridge, and transit improvements, had previously been scheduled to undergo an EIS process, but the FHWA and FTA have decided not to proceed with this step.
