USDA Amends Mideast Federal Milk Marketing Order to Increase Pool Plant Utilization

The US Department of Agriculture has finalized a rule amending the Pool Plant provisions of the Mideast Federal milk marketing order to require a minimum of 30% Class I utilization and at least 50% of combined route disposition and transfers to be distributed into Federal milk marketing areas, as part of the Pool Distributing Plants under the terms of the order. The rule was approved by more than the required number of producers in the Mideast marketing area.
