NMFS Seeks Comments on Proposal to Allow Small Numbers of Marine Mammals to be Harassed During Fireworks Displays at Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is requesting public comments on a proposal to issue an incidental harassment authorization (IHA) to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS) to allow for the taking of small numbers of marine mammals during professional fireworks displays in California waters, in accordance with the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA).
