Pilot Project for Tribal Jurisdiction over Crimes of Domestic Violence

The Department of Justice is establishing procedures for Indian tribes to request accelerated designation as participating tribes under the Indian Civil Rights Act, in response to the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act. The pilot project aims to streamline the process for tribes to participate in the program.
