Draft Environmental Impact Statement Released for Grand Canyon National Park Air Tour Management

The National Park Service has released a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Special Flight Rules Area in the Vicinity of Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, outlining four alternatives for managing air tours. The alternatives include adjusting the frequency and type of tours, as well as the use of quiet technology aircraft, in order to minimize environmental impact. The National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 requires the consideration of these alternatives, and the public is invited to review and comment on the DEIS.
