US Fish and Wildlife Service Proposes Regulations for Oil and Gas Industry Activities in Alaska
The US Fish and Wildlife Service proposes new regulations that would allow for the incidental, nonlethal take of small numbers of polar bears and Pacific walruses during oil and gas industry exploration, development, and production activities in Alaska's Beaufort Sea and northern coast, with the goal of minimizing impacts on these species and their availability for subsistence use by Alaska Natives.
