National Nuclear Security Administration Amends Plan to Dispose of Highly Enriched Uranium

The National Nuclear Security Administration is revising its 1996 plan to render surplus highly-enriched uranium non-weapons-usable by blending it down to low-enriched uranium for use as reactor fuel, amid concerns over environmental impacts and potential changes to the program.
