US Imposes Additional Sanctions on Syria

The US government has imposed additional sanctions on Syria under the Chemical and Biological Weapons Control and Warfare Elimination Act of 1991, following a determination that Syria used chemical weapons against its own nationals. The sanctions were imposed on November 1, 2013, after a three-month review period.
