NMFS Seeks Public Comment on Exempted Fishing Permit Application for Atlantic Surfclam and Ocean Quahog Harvesting

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is requesting public input on an application to exempt a commercial fishing vessel from the Atlantic surfclam and ocean quahog Georges Bank Closure Area, allowing it to continue testing the safety and efficacy of harvesting these species in the closure area, a project that has been ongoing since 2006.
