NOAA and DOI Invite Marine Protected Areas to Join National System

In July 2011, NOAA and the Department of the Interior (DOI) invited eligible marine protected area programs to nominate their existing sites to the National System of Marine Protected Areas (NSMPA), as outlined in the Framework for the NSMPA, published on November 19, 2008.
