US Extends Temporary Protected Status for Sudanese Refugees for 18 Months

The US Department of Homeland Security has extended the temporary protected status (TPS) for Sudanese refugees for 18 months, from November 2, 2011, to May 2, 2013, due to ongoing armed conflict and extraordinary conditions in the country that prevent safe return. Eligible individuals can re-register and apply for an extension of their employment authorization documents.
